UNESCO Monitoring Mission headed by Mr. Christian Manhart, Acting Chief of the UNESCO Section for Museums and Cultural Objects, within the framework of UNESCO, the Georgian National Museum and Norwegian Directorate of Cultural Heritage joint project "The Revitalization of the G. Chitaia Open Air Ethnographic Museum: Phase II" will be held in Tbilisi in May 19-21 for the purpose of monitoring the progress of the mentioned project and for making preparations for the next phase.
The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Mr. Davit Jalagania was appointed as Vice-President of the Commission on the basis of written approval of the members of the Commission and by the Order #2-09/1 (dated 6 March, 2009) of the President of National Commission of Georgia for UNESCO.
World Conference on Education for Sustainable Development was held in Bonn from 31 March to 2 April, 2009, within the framework of UN Decade of Education for Sustainable Development, for which UNESCO is the lead agency. Georgian delegation (from the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia) took part in the Conference and presented Report on the measures and future plans in the mentioned field.
The constitution of National Commission of Georgia for UNESCO was established/set up by the Order #1-09/1 (dated 20 March, 2009) of the President of Commission.
