8 Oldest Manuscripts preserved at the National Archives of Georgia were inscribed on the Memory of the World Register of UNESCO

In October 2015, on recommendation of the International Advisory Committee for the Memory of World Program, 8 Oldest Manuscripts Preserved at the National Archives of Georgia of the Ministry of Justice were inscribed in the Memory of the World Register.

In order to raise awareness and promote vocational education, the 15 th of July was declared by the UN General Assembly the World Youth Skills Day. At the initiative of the UNESCO-UNEVOC’s international Center and with support of  the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia the exhibition of  the Georgian traditional art works was held  at the community college “ Gldani Vocational Training Center”. The students exhibited their works created during the educational process at the college. The representatives of the vocational education college “Mermisi” as well as the members of the GIZ (Deutche Gesellschaft fur Internationale Zusammenarbeit), international and local experts, the audience concerned  participated in the event.

The 19th session of the General Assembly of the States Parties to the World Heritage Convention

The 19th session of the General Assembly of the States parties to the World Heritage Convention was held on November 19-21 at UNESCO HQ. The Georgian delegation headed by the First Deputy Minister of Culture and Monument Protection of Georgia participated in the event.

In the frames of the visit meetings with the Director of the World Heritage Center Mr.Kishore Rao and with the Chief of the Intangible Cultural Heritage Section Ms. Cecil Duvelle were held.

The following 12 new members of the World Heritage Committee were elected in the frames of the session: Croatia, Jamaica, Finland, Kazakhstan, Lebanon, Peru, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Republic of Korea, Turkey, Viet Nam.
