On April 30, 2018, the International Jazz Day will be celebrated in 190 countries around the world, including Georgia. In Georgia, the celebration of this Day under the auspices of UNESCO has already become a tradition.
The International Day of Jazz was proclaimed by UNESCO’s General Conference in 2011. The aim of the Organization's decision was to increase the cohesion between different peoples of the world by celebrating this date, but also to emphasize the global importance of jazz and its belonging to varied cultures.
In 2018, the celebration of this Day coincides with the 21st Tbilisi International Jazz Festival. On April 30th, Tbilisi's "Event Hall" will host a concert of the "Miles Electric Band" with the participation of Ravi Coltrane (Saxophone).
