On 12 February a kickoff event of the150th birth anniversary of Marjory Scott Wardrop was held at the Bodleian Library in Oxford. The launch event was initiated by the Embassy of Georgia to the UK and generously supported by the Marjory Wardrop Fund and the Bodleian Library. 150th birth anniversary of Marjory Wardrop is celebrated throughout 2019 in association with UNESCO, mainly in Georgia and the United Kingdom.

The 13th session of the Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage, held in the capital of the Republic of Mauritius, in Port Louis (26 November - 1 December) decided to inscribe the nomination submitted by Georgia "Chidaoba, wrestling in Georgia" on the List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

On September 25-26, 2018, a training on the protection of cultural property in the event of armed conflict is being held at the Defense Institution Building School. Organized by UNESCO and the Ministry of Defense, with the support of the Georgian National Commission for UNESCO, this two-day seminar will be attended by participants from the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Defense, the Agency for the Protection of Cultural Heritage and the Great Mtskheta Archeological Museum.
