On 25th of May, 2012 the second meeting of the coordinating working group of the project "Improving management of the Historic Monuments of Mtskheta (Georgia)" was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia. The mentioned project was financed in the frames of the "International Assistance "of the World Heritage Fund. The project envisages improvement of management of the Historic Monuments of Mtskheta and it will be implemented by the National Agency for Cultural Heritage Preservation of Georgia.
The working group is comprised of the representatives from the Ministries of Culture and Monument Protection, Economy and Sustainable Development, Regional Development and Infrastructure, also the National Agency for Cultural Heritage Preservation of Georgia, Mtskheta Municipality, Patriarchate, ICOMOS and from the Secretariat of the Georgian National Commission for UNESCO. The Secretary General of the National Commission for UNESCO, Ms. Ketevan Kandelaki welcomed the working group. The Head of the section for UNESCO and International Relations of the National Agency for Cultural Heritage Preservation of Georgia Ms. Rusudan Mirzikashvili, made a report on main challenges for the World Heritage Sites of Mtskheta, their management and technical tasks.
