The 43rd session of the World Heritage Committee of UNESCO, held in Baku (Azerbaijan), concluded its work on July 10. The Committee discussed the conditions of conservation of sites inscribed into the World Heritage List (including those from Georgia) and the question of inscription of new sites to the List.

By decision of the Committee, 29 sites were inscribed on the World Heritage List for the current year.

It should also be mentioned that an exhibition organized by the Georgian National Museum – “Dmanisi – 2 Million Years of Human Evolution” was held alongside the session. In addition, the UNESCO organized a conference “Properties of Religious Interest Sharing best practices in World Heritage management”, where a representative of Georgia was one of the key speakers.
