On September 21st, 2016, a seminar on UNESCO was organized within the framework of the International Music festival of Batumi, on the initiative of UNESCO Artist for Peace and artistic director of the Festival, Mrs. Eliso Bolkvadze.

The seminar was held in the presence of the Minister of Culture and Monument Protection of Georgia, M. Mikheil Giorgadze, and the Minister of Culture, Education and Sports of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara, M. Giorgi Tavamaishvili. The seminar was led by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and vice-President of the national Commission for UNESCO, Mrs. Khatuna Totladze, UNESCO Artist for the peace, Mrs. Eliso Bolkvadze and the Goodwill Ambassador of UNESCO and pianist, Cyprien Katsaris.

The participants in the seminar emphasized the important role of music and arts for the preservation of peace, and the work of UNESCO’s Goodwill Ambassadors and Artists for peace in this direction.
