In October 2015, on recommendation of the International Advisory Committee for the Memory of World Program, 8 Oldest Manuscripts Preserved at the National Archives of Georgia of the Ministry of Justice were inscribed in the Memory of the World Register.
Memory of the World Register lists worldwide importance documentary heritage from different countries, including manuscripts, oral traditions, audiovisual materials, exhibits, libraries and archives. The Register aims to ensure the protection and availability of the documentary heritage of member states of the Organization. Currently, the Memory of the World Register lists 348 documents and collections including ancient collections of National archives.
Other documentary heritage from Georgia such as the “Description of the Kingdom of Georgia” and Geographical Atlas by Vakhushti Bagrationi, Manuscripts of “the Knight in the Panther’s Skin” and Georgian Manuscripts of the Byzantine Period were also inscribed on the Register in 2011 and 2013.
